According to Microsoft, the decision was based on \u201c<strong>updated and stringent technology safeguards<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Boosting AI infrastructure and model access<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In a company blog post, Microsoft stated that the GPUs will be used to provide access to advanced AI models from <strong>OpenAI<\/strong>, <strong>Anthropic<\/strong>, open-source developers, and Microsoft itself. \u201cMore important is their positive impact across the UAE,\u201d the company emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nvidia shares rose 2.17% following the news, while Microsoft dipped slightly by 0.17%. Analysts say the move cements the UAE\u2019s strategy to become a global AI hub. \u201cAccess to the world\u2019s leading AI chips provides the hardware that will give developers the leading edge needed in an incredibly competitive global landscape,\u201d said <strong>Azad Zangana<\/strong> from Oxford Economics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deepening U.S.\u2013UAE tech cooperation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Microsoft President <strong>Brad Smith<\/strong> highlighted the importance of the U.S.\u2013UAE relationship during the ADIPEC conference in Abu Dhabi. \u201cWe\u2019re very grateful to Secretary of Commerce <strong>Howard Lutnick<\/strong> and the bipartisan support that made these export licenses possible,\u201d Smith said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Microsoft is also increasing its <strong>total investment in the UAE to $15.2 billion<\/strong> by 2030.
